At its heart, Malden Historical Museum is more than a building filled with artifacts—it’s a living partner in keeping our community connected. One of the most meaningful ways it does that is through its sponsorship of the Bootheel Beacon.
This partnership bridges past and present. While the museum preserves Malden’s stories and stories in other communities of southeast Missouri through photographs, documents, and exhibits, the Bootheel Beacon carries today’s stories forward—covering local government, schools, events, and the people who make our town what it is. Together, they ensure that history isn’t just remembered, but actively lived.
Museum support helps keep the Bootheel Beacon viable and focused on quality local reporting, while the newspaper shines a light on southeast Missouri Bootheel heritage, events, and community voices. It’s a collaboration built on shared purpose: informing neighbors, celebrating local pride, and strengthening civic life.
In a time when many small towns lose their local voice, Malden is fortunate. With the museum safeguarding where we’ve been—and the Bootheel Beacon reporting where we’re going—our community remains informed, connected, and proud of its roots.
